RAT RE: ANTI-NATO RANT

You know my first reaction is to always make a joke. I think this is because
it makes me feel comfortable. Actually, I'm sure of it. It is my defense
mechanism and my weapon of choice. If I could round up a a million or so
jokesters and we could run over to Slobo's house and tell him jokes or tickle
him into submission, that's what I would do. If I could replace NATO smart
bombs with giant banana peels, I would do it. 

But I don't mean and never meant to denegrate anybody's sincere wish for
peace. Peace is the ultimate goal. I don't want violence. 

At the same time, I don't want my government to stand by while there's a
genocide going on. Some of the Ratsters have written about how there is
sometimes a justification for war. I agree. My fear is that Slobo is Hitler.
My gut is telling me he is Hitler.  Do I have all the facts? Can I even
ascertain all the facts? I don't think so.  

I will say this about the Rat list. Reading the exchange has got me thinking
instead of just observing the mess in numbed silence. That is a great thing.
Almost as great as a banana peel.
