Must jump in:
	I agree- we the nasty capitalistic, holier than thou,
democracy-pimps- ie the US, would NOT be involved in this shebang if we
didn't stand to profit somehows.  (if you need more convincing on this
point than your common sense will supply, remember-we (the Pimp US) were
all set to do this ending the ethnic cleansing gig in the VERY near
past...and we pulled out...leaving the KLA to get slaughtered)
	I've tried to figure out why;am at complete loss.  To slap Russias
hand for thinking they might be a threat to the "only superpower left on
the planet"?  To get Eastern Europe in line with the happy-slappy
unionizing goin' on in the West?  We've been hired by a shadow government
(the Canadians, who else) to do it?  To get Moose and sqvuirrel?

	That said, I think atempting to stop ethnic cleansing is a worthy
cause.  Our problem?  Whenever we do something of this ilk, we under
commit, we half-ass it, if you will.  Should have sent in ground troops
right away, should have acted quickly-er.  I'm a big proponent of the work
as hard as you can for a peaceful solution as long as you can; when you
must react with violence REACT WITH MAXIMUM FORCE.
	Perhaps we would have best used our resources to get the Albanians
the fuck out of Kosovo. . .actually rescuing them as we claim to be doing
now, instead of leaving them to get stranded, killed, raped, and then
starve to death in refugee camps.
	I've seen better organized riots.
