RAT Philadelphia Rat meet
Hi all,
Philadelphia Rat and Fly By Night meetings: Monday and Tuesday April 16 and
17 at 7pm at Theatre Double at 1619 Walnut Street in the downstairs theater.
Monday tonight will be the rat conference agenda night. Tuesday we'll recap
and expand with those who missed Monday's meeting. Then we'll talk some
about Fly By Night's new venues. Especially playwrights and directors
should try to make this Tuesday meeting. Some content, sites, and
procedures to be discussed.
Fly By Night keeps infringing on these rat meetings and vice versa for a
reason. The more both ventures become ingrained PhilaRat projects the
better. It can be used to make the community and the press more aware of
rat coming Philadelphia. Representatives from six or seven small theater
companies have worked on Fly By Night now; as such it's suggesting a model
for disparate individuals and groups collaborating and working together.
Besides the site-specific moves to Olde City and elsewhere, I am imaging an
exchange between theaters in different cities also. Specifically between
NYC, Philadelphia, and ????? (perhaps Wilmington, Baltimore, or D.C.) for
the First Saturday in June. Not sure how to flesh all this out exactly, but
this could definitely serve as prelude or primer to the conference by
having artists from three cities collaborating on a Fly By Night together.
We'll bring the humongous and awesome RatMobile into Philadelphia to help
accomplished Fly By Night's new incarnation.

We'll outfit the legendary RatMobile's onboard generator with some type of
lighting rig and dimmer so that we can illuminate and translate
site-specific street scenes and such. The vehicle can also serve as box
office, and/or dressing room, lighting booth, transport wagon between
cities and scenes.
In and out, here then there, catch if you can, truly a Fly By Night operation.
I'm driving the vehicle up from Tennessee. If anyone is ready for a small
adventure, I could really use a driving partner. We would fly into
Tennessee Tuesday May 1 and drive the 20 hours May 2 and 3 back to
Philadelphia. But we first need a place here in the Philly or vicinity to
park it when not in use. Does anyone have or know a friend who has a 30
foot driveway to loan?
