Exactly how are you "the artist" supposed to know? How are you supposed to
figure out if your fancy, filigreed interpretation of Ibsen is deep-fried crap
on a stick? Just keep asking yourself the same question? Isn't this what an
audience is supposed to do? If you listen, shouldn't THEY be able to tell you?
Why do some of us feel like we're imposing on people by offering up something
on a stage?
