Draft 2 of my note to the RAT-List ( which should replace Draft 1, draft 1
having been excised) should read:
Based on prior activist experiences while in Seattle during the Gulf War,
Mr. Rothbart wolud like to raise the possibility with his esteemed
theatrical colleagues that the vionce attributed to "anarchists" ( of which
larger tribe the aforementioned Mr. Rothbart generally numbers himself
among, although he , himself does not support violence and would ,
further, like to point out that the are as many versions of Anarchism as
there are types of Celestial Seasonings Tea) was in fact generated by
federal or state goverment infiltrators of said activist group . The
infiltrators were positioned carefully in the various activist groups over
the course of the last year of planning meetings about WTO. Their sole
purpose, which they have successfully achieved, was to create riots and
riot-like conditions in the middle of an otherwise peaceful demonstration
of the WTO conference in Seatlle, thereby serving to simultaneously shift
the tenor of the debate from the actual needs of working class people
while discrediting the movement as a whole with their extremist, violent
acts.

But the question still remains: do you have first hand eye-witness acounts?
Second hand? How does one verify the validity of these claims? If you are
going to make a statement, you have to defend it. I'm not an anarchist, the
only thing you and I have in common is we fall left of center. And I hate it
when progressives come off like conspiracy theorist wackos from the extreme
right. The scenario you describe is not beyond the realm of possibility.
Now, defend it. With evidence and eyewitness accounts, media accounts, etc.
Not just "It's possible that the man could have starte the riots himself to
make himself look good and us look bad."
