RAT Play Reading at Moving Arts

Hello RATs!

On Tuesday, March 16 at 8m, Moving Arts is presenting a reading of THE
RETURN TO MORALITY, a new play by Chicago playwright Jamie Pachino,
directed by Jan O'Connor.

THE RETURN TO MORALITY is political satire about the unraveling of a
well-meaning liberal, caught in the maelstrom of his own good intentions.
Tracing the fast rise and even faster downfall of chalky young college
professor Arthur Kellogg, the play follows the publication of his first
book, a scathing satire of the religious right, which "accidentally" gets
published as non-fiction, and taken up as a manifesto by militia groups
before Arthur has a chance to fix the spin. Arthur winds up the object of
scorn and fear, interviewed by Sixty Minutes, abandoned by his wife, and
ultimately blackmailed into giving the keynote address at the Republican
National Convention, (live), with unanticipated results.

The reading will be at Moving Arts, 1822 Hyperion Avenue in LA's
Silverlake district. Admission is free. A discussion will follow the
reading.
