Re: RAT A comment in general

Just a note that Martin's opinion does not stand for all. I personally don't
mind if you whine...as long as you're having fun doing it - or getting
something from the experience. Not just theatre is tough...I've done a lot of
things to get through and pay the bills, and every one of those jobs has it's
difficulties. What's wrong with doing a little complaining to those who are
on an opinion list, if it helps clear the system? One of the ways that the
human being copes is to whine (or complain, as I can't hear the tone of your
(anyone on the list) expressions, and the term "whine" always means - to me
anyway - that there is a lot of high pitched, tearful stuff going on) - in
fact that's what a lot of our theatre is about - right Martin? Expressing -
sometimes posed through complaint - through conflict at least - a situation
that should be changed?
So hell, go ahead and whine a bit if it helps get the angst expresssed....no
problem, cause none of us on this list HAVE to read it - we all freely choose
to be reading this stuff...Then again, if you don't find some satisfaction in
theatre, then you should probably find something that truly satisfies (my
opinion)...at least sometimes - so the whine is only one portion of what's on
your table. You need a balanced diet, right?
I get the sense from those who've been talking the last few days that there is
some frustration with getting work done by others, and getting recognition,
etc... But I also get a strong sense of theatre love. So dance, and
sing...and go ahead, let's have some whine! The medical field recommends two
glasses a day, and sex at least two times a week. Sounds like theatre to me!
