About three years ago I was at an event honoring my father (a lifetime
achievement award in his industry) where, oddly, as my dad is in the sports
industry, Bush Sr. was the keynote speaker. He spoke about his own "legacy,"
and said that, of all his "accomplishments," the one he was most proud of was
"winning" the Gulf War. For this he received a standing ovation. My husband
and I sat stunned in the front row, gaping at all those around us whose
rejoicing at such tragedy turned our stomachs.

This kind of barbarism is revolting wherever it occurs.
