Of course, one other wrinkle is that a lot of the waiver houses are companies
created and run by actors themselves. It's one thing to protect actors froma
potentially abusive management, and it's another thing to make it difficult
for actors to put together their own projects for their own growth and
satisfaction. (Of course, then some actors end up having to be protected
from actors who have become management for a day.)
