RAT speaking of Wallace Shawn...

Anybody know the deal with rights to and/or production history of The 
Designated Mourner?  I'm familiar with the London and NY productions and I 
understand it's also been done at Steppenwolf and Gorilla Theater in 
Florida, but Mr. Shawn's agent finally responded to our request of four 
months ago to say that rights are not available.  Don't much want to give up 
yet, on the basis of a form letter.  Anyone know how to get a letter to the 
playwright?  I'd send it to his agent, but they seem to have no knowledge of 
the first three letters we sent.
