Re: RAT Marx in Soho (in LA) RE Marx in The Theatre/ Conrad Bishop

I try to see a lot of local productions, but I draw the line at $15, because
I work part-time to support my playwriting habit. I don't call Marx at $18
a bargain, unless it's one of the truly good shows in town -- I'll be
listening for word of mouth AND looking for the reviews.

Yes, price tickets at $18 or $108 if you're at the Taper, the Tiffany, major
Broadway houses, etc. You'll get the crowds with plenty of disposable income.

Otherwise, try to keep prices down to below movie costs. Theatre can't
compete with CDs or TV or films unless it's a really really good production
-- right?

Also, it's time for all of us to re-read "Towards a Poor Theatre."
