I would LOVE to get together with other No Cal rats, but I have a small 
child.  So such carefree, intellectual gatherings are not an option for me 
until preschool starts in the fall or until my husband gets home from work at 
5.  The toddler is also the reason why I can't drop everything and go to 
Philly.  

Here's a thought:  Maybe we could meet in Berkeley.  Why does everything have 
to be in SF?  It never fails to take like 17 hours to get there from my 
house, a journey which took a scant 30 minutes not five years ago.  I avoid 
going to the city in the same way that I avoid all annoying things that take 
too long, like The Ring or Marat Sade.  But if there is really such a rat 
concentration over the bridge, then so be it.

I am also computer illiterate.  Is there some No Cal rat out there who can 
set something up so we don't have to pester all the other rats out there with 
our minutiae?
