The Smiths, or 12 Steps to a More Dysfunctional Family (currently being
developed into a screenplay) marked Rob Nash’s New York solo theatre debut at
the first International New York Fringe Festival, four summers ago. New
Yorker’s have since seen Rob’s one-man plays at The New York Theatre
Workshop’s 4thStreet Theatre, HERE, La Mama Solo Arts, Venue and Surf Reality.

In Dysfunctional: Ashley purges, Matt runs away, Fred confronts protease
inhibitors and bankruptcy, Margot excels in Divinity School, Windsong gets in
touch with her colon and somehow Mildred manages to keep the whole family
together…again.  Witness the unbearable intimacy that is family!  A must
foranyone who’s been anywhere near a 12 Step program!

Nationally,The Dysfunctional Family Saga (which also includes 12 Steps to a
More Dysfunctional You and 12 Steps to a More Dysfunctional Christmas) and
FreshmanYear Sucks! Sophomore Slump, Junior Blues and Senioritis, The Holy
Cross Quadrilogy have played Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Atlanta,
San Diego, Houston, Tampa, Durham, Austin, Provincetown, UC Berkeley, UCLA,
Dartmouth, Princeton and The Fringe in Edinburgh, Scotland.  Rob’s stand-up
comedy has been featured on VH1 Stand-up Spotlight with Rosie O’Donnell and
Comedy Central’s Out There in Hollywood.

Sex Farce, a Romantic Comedy will world premiere at Austin’s VORTEX REPERTORY
THEATRE May 24 through June10.  Don’t Tell Mama’s will host the first sneak
previews of Sex Farce before its world premiere.  

In Sex Farce, “Meg wantsTom.  Waylon wants Monty.  Ruth still wants Naomi who
wants Eleanor who’s sick of Frank who wants a three way. Ada dumps Eve who
ends up with Ruth, while Ada dominates Frank.”

Rob’s Freshman Year Sucks! Sophomore Slump, Junior Blues and Senioritis, The
Holy Cross Quadrilogy is in negotiations with The New York Theatre Workshop
for production at PS122 in October.

Rob also teaches his method of solo theatre writing and performance in a
class called FLYING SOLO for writers who act.
