RAT Masterpiece

I was primarily thinking of recognising a masterpiece
from the recieving end, I often have these intuitions
about pieces of art, usually books and music, being
utterly 'complete' and 'superb' and feel drawn to
investigate what makes them so in my eyes. Other times
I feel there is one step lacking in that direction,
and yet again feel drawn to see what it would be.

So far in theatre most of the time there are too many
steps lacking towards suberb-ness, this is what sort
of troubles me about theatre, this sloppiness, not
that I should be the one to speak since I've comitted
enough of it myself :)

I am not altogether sure about the universe but I do
feel it is complete, it is dinamic, it is constantly
reassembling and moving, but within that it is
perfectly and fractally complete.

However, even in creation one should be, IMHO,
constantly aware of the final product. Surely, one
cannot be positive or go towards something vague as
'making it a masterpiece' but an artist IMHO must
constantly strive to keep the creative process ... how
should I put this, under a sort of 'control', to
remove the unnecessary, to purify, to strengthen, to
avoid tautology yet to avoid anachronisms, yes, I
guess we could sentimentaly say 'to hell with
limitations' or like Lope de Vega lock the rules
behind several keys, but LDV was a genius and a
skilled and disciplined creator, there is an aspect of
art that is all but 'esoteric' in the widely used
sense of the word... It is hard work with a heavy dose
of rationality to balance out the heavy irrationality
it deals with.... And yes, a work of art can bee and
has to be completed, it is a strange, dynamic sort of
completion, that has to do with integrity, truth,
consistancy, purity.. I mean, don't tell me you
haven't sensed this ever? In a song, in an album, in a
symphony, an actor,... Sensed THIS IS IT, what in Noh
is called the Flower?
