RAT Hey, the start of conversation!

Ah it is funny to realize that the people on the RAT list reading me who 
already know me as a person understand my language, both the words and the 
spaces and therefor are able to be part of a certain kind of conversation.  
The other people on the RAT list who take me only on what I have written are 
prone to bringing only their own side of the conversation and destroying, 
unavoidably, the balance of the conversation.

I mention this situation only because it points to an interesting dynamic in 
a communicative art form such as theater. The interplay between the material 
of the communication, the common experiences of the people in the room not 
only with the performers but with the personas of the theater piece itself 
AND memory is the real action of the evening.  Weather the leading character 
learns to not give away his kingdom before he dies or not to trust middle 
class values is of lesser significance in comparison with the connections 
possible and missed between the audience and the material, the material and 
the performers and the relationships between all the above and the fluid 
bank of common and personal memory.

Elite versus popular?  Hmmm...  Sorta like both.  And lay off knocking the 
Lion King, will you!
