RAT Call for Puppeteers--Acme Puppet Slam

As part of Acme Clown Month, a 6 week residency I'll doing at the Greenbelt
Arts Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, I will be hosting an Acme Puppet Slam.
This will be an opportunity for local and not-so-local puppeteers to present
short pieces (ten minutes maximum) in a later evening, cabaret setting.
Topics can range anywhere you like (including but not limited to adult
themes), and work can be old or new.  Any style of puppetry or object
oriented theatre is encouraged, as is experimentation in new styles for you.

The show will take place Friday May 4, 2001 at 9 pm in the Greenbelt Arts
Center. Artists taking part  will be richly rewarded but meagerly
compensated-- we'll be dividing half of the door money among the
participating artists.

If you are interested in taking part, please send a brief (1 page) proposal
and a resume/photograph to the address below no later than March 1, 2001.
Remember, we're looking for about 10 minutes maximum. I'll try to fit all
requests to perform in, but if there are too many, artists will be chosen to
make up a diverse evening of puppetry. A slight preference will be given to
artists who live in the DC/Baltimore area, but we encourage out of state, or
further afield submissions.
