Re: RAT "What we deserve"

Oh goody we get to talk politics on this list again.
Beats trashing dramaturgs anyway. The problem with
saying much of anything at this point is that the
planned rhetoric from each side is so strident (just
look at "Sore Loserman" and "Bush Cheated" signs) that
there is no way to make a comment without apearing
partisan, since what no one has come out and said is
that there is no 'fair' way to resolve this, all of
Laura's 'troubling accusations' aside. Just as a Bush
supporter is more apt to fall prey to the story of
Gore/Lieberman excising military ballots (which have
all since been counted) or the accusatons of
intimidation (some of which seem to have foundation,
many of which are only verbal complaints made more
than a week after the election with no corroboration
in order to get television coverage) or shadow
conspiracies about judicial malfesance (Scalia's son
works for the same firm as Bush's lawyers, but no one
ever tried to hide it, and in the law this is not
considered a conflict of interest since Scalia's son
has no stake in the case). There is much confusion. I
read the FSC's entire decision over the weekend and I
agreed that there is something troubling in the
decision. I like the idea of "counting every ballot"
but feel that to frame the argument in those terms is
essentially a lie, and one of the reasons I didn't
vote for gore is that he's a liar and I don't want to
see a liar win. sorry.
