RAT DESIGN + ART + STORYTELLING + COMMUNITY

My name is Tami Canaday and I'm a Playwright from Denver and I may have met
some of you in Austin for the RAT Rave in 1996. Since then, I've been a very
silent RAT lurker, but a loyal one.

I'm currently collaborating on a theatre/computer project, where we're
exploring the possibilities of reframing the way we tell our stories in
theatre by looking at the visual structures and logic of computers, along
with actual digital art . . . and whether or not we can translate them to the
stage.

Here's the official spill:

DESIGN + ART + STORYTELLING + COMMUNITY

The project is with the experimental theatre/performance collective known as
The LIDA Project (the name derives from Cold War Soviet mind control
experiments using low frequency radio waves) based in Denver, CO.

We are working on a project to reinvent the way in which we communicate our
stories and learn how technology can modify and enhance the work we have been
doing in Live Art. We are reaching out to other artists in all media who may
find this collaboration artistically fulfilling.

Currently, we're working with Performance Artists, but we are looking to
break out of the traditional LIVE performance and create a LIVE/DIGITAL/WEB
hybrid piece. We are especially searching for collaborators among the design
and digital communities and other theatres to help us explore uniting LIVE
and VISUAL design for the purposes of storytelling.

As part of this process, The LIDA Project recently launched a site called The
(2)::GOOD-EVIL(3)::: (Http://www.good-evil.org/) The site is intended to be
highly experiential, and a collaborative exploration of traditional theatre,
technology, and storytelling. The main objective of the site is to create an
ever-changing, ever-evolving environment in which this experiment may exist
independently. The story, visual interface, dialogue and ultimate production
will be created, destroyed then re-created by an environment of creators and
an interactive audience.

We are also creating dialogues on the site:
http://www.good-evil.org/connection.htm We're hoping this section will shape
the core concepts of the project.

We're not sure where this project will lead or what it will look like in the
end, but we're very excited about it.

Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.
