The power is really ours, but we have to reach out to find it and sieze it. This

An example:
The modern gay rights movement began in 1950 when a Communist Party labor

Fifty years ago, the gay rights movement in the US consisted entirely of four
gay men and two lesbians meeting secretly behind locked doors in a house in Los
Angeles. It was called the Mattachine Society.
The world has really changed for queers in the last fifty years.
It all began with one person having a dream of changing the world and finding
another person who could share the dream.
We are the American People.
We have the power to change the world.
