About McCarthyism: suspect individuals were asked to name names of
people they had any reason, however slight, to consider Communist
sympathizers. Usually, the reward for naming names was to have your own
case dropped by the House UnAmerican Activities Committee (HUAC).
Evidence was only hearsay.

That's very different from naming the names of people who are engaged in
strike-breaking, who are working without a contract, for lower wages, in
worse working conditions, and making it more difficult for the union to
gain a fair contract.

If the union, SAG, for instance, or the building trades unions, is
closed to aspiring members -- older women, people of color, gays, young
people who would like to make commercials -- that's a justice issue, but
it isn't McCarthyism.
