RAT Re: Next Conference

Dear Art Workers:
 
     There will be a meeting of the rat conference in Novi Sad (Yugoslavia), June 23-25. Please stay for the INFANT Theater Festival (international, experimental), June 30-July 2. Details available from Dijana Milosevic of Dah Teater ( dah@eunet.yu ); confirm dates with her. Iowa centered itself on Art and War, here the focus is Art and Peace. In addition to the accustomed priorities of our coming together - by the sheer act of our assembling in Novi Sad, we will be witnessing for peace. America will touch the soil of that country with theater, not bombs.
 
     A visa is necessary. Let Dijana know your are coming, then secure an invitation to the Festival from Elza ( kcns@eunet.yu ). Then contact the Yugoslavian Consulate in Toronto and have them fax you a form (416-483-1080). You will need to mail them your passport, the invitation, evidence of a return ticket and $65 dollars for processing and return mail.
 
     Philosophy to follow, but for now, a reprise of possible uses of rat:
 
1) To move artists
2) To move art
3) To move art in its incompleteness, so as to require the distribution of ways of working
4) To achieve an increase in the mass of the contemporary theater movement by advancing a universal union of the precise and the particular
5) To advance the experimental understanding of hospitality
