Re: RAT Less Work! More Filling! / Sylvain/ Sharon
>>
Sharon M --
Perhaps you misunderstood the lighthearted nature of my pastiche of John's
rules.
I was referring, jovially, to the "Naked Holidays" promise of nudity -- which
did not, alas materialize, much to the chagrin of me and my friend. (By the
way, we're both ONLY semi-brachiating at this point, so there's hope for us.)
"...cool N.Y.-style mystery plays" referred, again, to "Naked Holidays," and
that piece in the evening just before the intermission -- in which a fellow
is sent on a quest around town. I thought that piece was cool, enjoyable and
mysterious.
I also enjoyed the way Sacred Fools embraced its lack of ethnic membership in
that opening sketch.
That reference of mine re multiculturalism referred to, not Sacred Fools, but
in general, to people on the listserve and local playwrights who are anglo,
and have cast, historically, mostly anglos (herein meaning whites of European
descent) in their plays -- but who now decry -- and most stridently so -- the
lack of multiculturalism in local theatre.
Hope that clears it up
Yours for more nudity on stage
(but only where appropriate to the material -- and I'll be the judge of that)
