It is hard to tell if the show is crap -- when you're on the inside.

As I've said before, get a second "eye" or three to look at the production -- 
someone from outside the company, someone with experience, and who's willing 
to tell the truth. (Most friends will be leery of telling you that it's crap, 
or almost as bad, mediocre.)

And let us be wary of mediocrity, as we are of crap.

We all have the responsibility to do the very best theatre we can, and not 
wreck it for other theatre artists.

Of course, if you're one of those iconoclasts who doesn't care what audiences 
think, you'll be ignorning these posts anyway.
