Re: RAT script,austin/LA

Robert Faries at the Chronicle and Michael BArnes at teh STatesman two of the
biggest reasons Austin is fast becoming a live theatre capitol in addition to
its reputation of being a live music capitol. Their mission is to clearly
see the arts thrive in Austin.

<< Brad,
How about picking a few lines from Steve Tomlinson's play and sharing them
on the list. a taste. There are a bunch of supporters of his work it seems,
the least of whom is you. How can we read a script here in LA?
 And Robert Faires,
You don't know it but you have been a figure around LA this past month or
so. The Big Cheap Theatre community here held a self organized roundtable
discussion with the local LA theatre press and I brought up your work in
Austin as an example of a type of positive relationship model. I remember
the RAT conference in Austin. I like to mention things Austin as a model for
Los Angeles. We are a huge community here, and we had strong feelings about
the type of coverage we get in the press, very specifically the LA Times.
Michael Phillips, who said he knew you, is a new Times critic here and he
has allowed great dialogue to happen. But I thought you'd like to know that
I used you in a ratty way, to budge this monster called LATimes theatre
coverage. And thanks for the party in Austin.
Bottom's Dream will be premiering "chokecherry" in Austin at The Frontera
Fest Feb 3,4, and 5th. I hope to see you there.(along with all the other
 austinrattys.)
