Hi,
  I'm not sure if it was my post about intent or not. There were a
couple. What I was talking about was specifically the intention of the
actor's character's motivations and the director's overall vision. If you
give me the alphabet, or the phone book or anything "nonsensical" (this
is NOT to say that Wellman is nonsensical...although...), as an actor
I'll try to find an intention that motivates me and gives you (the
viewer) a dramatic and/or comedic interpretation. As a director, I'll
attempt the help the actor find same. Now if the playwright (in this case
Wellman) is involved in the process as well then all the better. S/He'll
bring enlightenment to both actor and director.
