RE: hey, what's new in RATdom?

Ya know, I think it takes strange kind of courage to admit on a list like
this that Mac Wellman leaves you cold. Isn't that wierd? Wellman doesn't
much turn my crank either. He seems self consciously obscure. .

There. I said it.

I love what he stands for though.

Ya know, I find the conversation on this list and the BCT list facinating
90% of the time. When folks get all pissy with each other it gets a little
old some times but hell, that's theater people for you. So I don't want any
of this political dialogue to go away but I would like to hear about and
exchange good RAT ish plays that RAT ish theaters have found and or
developed. That would be good.

PS
By the way, for Mr. Sinclair and others...Audie McCall is a character in a
play by Paul Mullin. The guy with the Audie McCall email is not Paul Mullin.
(believe me, you could tell if it was Paul) It may (or may not) be the
brilliant actor who originated the role. I won't out him. I say this because
Mr. Sinclair addressed comments to Audie saying "Mr. Mullin".

The point is, if you are looking for an interesting show to do, I recommend
Paul's work. "Tuesday", (AHA Theater, Seattle - Sacred Fools Theater, Los
Angeles) "The Louis Slotin Sonata" (Circle X Theater, Los Angeles) "Grendel"
(Book-it, Seattle) and "The Septarchy" Annex Theater, Seattle are great,
intelligent works with great parts for actors. Paul recently moved to NYC so
if you are there you oughta look him up. (I don't have any contact info for
him but someone on this list might)

PSS
A bit of advice for new people to the RAT list.
1. Jonathan is a pretty fucking smart guy. If you think Jonathan Harris is
being nasty please read his posts more than once. Usually he is responding
SPECIFICALLY to something in a post that is not well thought out. Don't get
instantly defensive because he'll tear you into little bits philosophically.
2. Go to Iowa and meet people.
3. Wear sunscreen.
4. Don't drink two pitchers of Margarittas at lunch and then post to the RAT
list.
5. Ignore all advice found on the internet or posted to List Serves like
this one.
