You bring up a good point.    What ABOUT actors who do a reading -- and then 
are replaced in the production by someone else?  Total bummer, if they were 
hoping to do the play, even when they're told up front the 
producer/playwright/director cannot commit.

I much prefer "casting" the people for the reading that I'd also "play" with, 
but there are AEA rules about casting, etc.

Anyone have experience in this area they'd care to share?
