Nylons could work, but how do we know till we see the dress.  You say it's 
conservative, with (I believe) lace?  But give us texture woman!  And what do 
your legs look like, do you turn an evil ankle?  Is it a good leg?  Would 
Shakespeare have written a sonnet to your knees...will your knees be seen?    
Are they perhaps the bee's proverbial knees?

Get you to one who knows the merit of legs, and SHOW don't tell!  Then will 
you get an answer that might actually be of some benefit to you.  A "reading" 
is of no benefit in this particular debate, we need a fully costumed 
production to give a good answer as to theatrical merit of your choice (to 
hose or not to hose).

I like the stocking idea...but that's just cause I think stockings are about 
as sexy a choice as a woman can make.  But do they suit your purpose?  One 
cannot know without the eyes and the legs in close proximity.
