RAT The Brad and Karen Mess

Hello rats,
Watching all of this transpire over my monitor I'm reminded of how I
felt during the first few days of the coverage our trusted media gave to
the Jon Benet Ramsey murder. IMHO various rats weighing in with their
rightly held opinons are akin to the way the media turned that sick
happening into a circus. Karen - do you have any video we could maybe
link into so we'll have an eye-byte of some kind? Brad - have you
consulted your attorneys before giving any kind of statement to the
ravenous list serve? Please, people. Stop this. Before someone kills
again.
The issues this error conjures up are interesting and worthy of public
discussion. But, don't you think we could start leaving names out of it?
What the hell good does that do other than make both parties feel even
worse than they already do? Now, anybody who knows me will tell you that
I'm not one to shy away from issues simply because somebody's feelings
might get hurt. Quite the opposite, in fact. But in <this> case, it was
never meant to be any of our damned business so why don't we all just
shut the hell up?
How about we talk about the issues the situation raised instead: the
ups, downs, benefits, drawbacks, points and counter-points of "staged
readings". Should artists always be paid? Is it a worthy investment to
stage a reading of a play? Does anybody care about the unknown
playwright? How do we deal with the sudden loss of a promised production?
Let us devour, blood spilling through our teeth, the meat of the
<issues>.
But, on second thought, that doesn't make for a very exciting reading.
