Squeegie Elvis, the Homeless One, worked for the Ruth Messenger campaign 
against the evil fascist Rudy last election.  King Squeegie knew that the 
gestures he made trying to clean the windshields of New Yorkers would lose as 
many votes as they would gain for the Messenger, but that was the point.  He 
also ardently enjoyed passing out _I Love New York_ bumper stickers and 
saying over and over again "Thank You Very Much" to the carloads of 
passengers entering city on the Manhattan Bridge.  

Squeegie Elvis, the Homeless One, has had some friends at Tiny Mythic and 
HERE.  In fact, his cousin Naked Elvis has performed at benefits there and 
the extended Elvis family has donated both their time and money in various 
capacities to the space. But on that Election Tuesday the Homeless One would 
have been barred from doing his Squeegie Act within HERE because the Obie 
Award winning "Performance Space for Independent Artists" had been rented out 
for the day as a voting booth location.

Mitch, allow me to also clarify what I'm saying. 

1) Don't piss up a rope.
2) Don't piss into the wind
3) And most important, you can't piss downstream in a swimming pool.

I could never work a scam on a theater institution the same way I could never 
scam my relatives, even if they're distant cousins twice removed.  I will not 
be pissing on TCG, Lincoln Center, Mark Taper Forum, South Coast Rep, or 
HERE.  But I will be standing just outside all of them campaigning with the 
Homeless One for the one and only Messenger.  And that's the truth, Ruth.
