Re: RAT wow!what a conference!



The L.A. Times' Don Shirley attended the conference and wrote a column
about it. (He was actually on deadline with it when I spoke with him
earlier in the week.) It ran today (Sunday), and extensively quoted Han
Ong, formerly of L.A. and formerly a playwright. He's pissy because he
isn't getting produced -- in fact, everybody I know was STUNNED when this
guy won the "genius" grant because he's barely known and barely produced;
usually these go to someone whose name is at least bubbling under the
