Dear Rob,

Thanks for the inquiry.

Just the other day I had a working lunch with one of the senior members of
the Committee. We discussed at length your case. As you probably know, we
will be awarding numerous outreach grants from our "Theater Not Guns" high
school funding project. I am a great admirer of your "Freshman Year Yucks"
and was a very active campaigner at the last Committee meeting on your
behalf. Unfortunately many Committee members felt your work a little too
"edgy" for high school students.

A few Committee members from our commercial division had adopted your
"Sophomore Stunt" for backing in a trial Off Broadway run. Although this
will probably not happen this year because the Committee felt that in order
to sell in today's climate we need products with more of an "edge", I
wouldn't write off your chances on some production in the future. My best
advice to you here is to keep your chin up and your nose clean, if you what
I mean.

Again, Rob, thanks for inquiry and your continued fawning attention to our
authority. Although it looks like you may have "fallen through the cracks"
once more, I can assure you that the Committee has always found your
Shameless Plugs quite amusing and entertaining.

Keep plugging away.

Sincerely,

Nick Manhattan
