Weird, man.

I thought Nick was just presenting a thought, a theory. It was well shaped
and funny, thought provoking and interesting.

Didn't seem to be a response to anything on the list serve. Maybe it was a
exploration of his own negative response to some of the heal the world
sentiments expressed by others. "Why does this sincere desire to make the
world better make me want to smash things?" He said to himself...maybe.

In any case it was a new thing. Not an attack. Not a defense. No need to
climb down because he put himself up there by virtue of his own expression.

It puts me in the mind of other times that people have taken it upon
themselves to puncture someone's inflated ego. I happen to think both
actions, the inflating and the puncturing, are fine and interesting and
certainly keep me entertained. Its just kind of ironic, don't ya think?

I mean the reason we are on this rat list is because we all think enough of
our selves that we think other people, people we don't even know, should pay
money to see us or, even more egocentric, the products of our minds. And we
don't want any thing to stop us from doing exactly what we want so we go out
and start our own theaters. (Or if our egos are really out of control we
start TWO!!)

So nick had a thought that he thought we might want to think about. He puts
it out there and the response has been "hey man, where'd that come from?"

I hope I don't come off as self righteous. Like:"Don't you DARE shoot down
another artists ideas!" No go ahead. Shoot away. It just kind of reminds me
of this guy at our theater who saw our first show (The Fatty Arbuckle
Spookhouse Review by the Brilliant Chris Jeffries) and said "I don't get
it." "What do you not get?" "Well were the puppets like a parallel for the
main characters" "Yeah, sure." "Oh then I get it."

You didn't miss anything.
