RAT RE: New Thread

So I get to work and read 56 emails. Heaven.

Aileen - I love your words also. I hope you are coming to LA for RATFEST 99
or RAT BLANKET BINGO or whatever the powers that BCT decide on.

I also want to repeat my request that people sign their names, theater names
and cities. If you think the FBI is monitoring this list serve (and they
probably are-oooh I feel so sexy all of a sudden!) and you think they don't
already know your name, address and shoe size by all means don't sign but I
would like to associate names with theaters and theaters with places. Now I
I know that if I ever get to Philly I will look up the Vagabond Theater
because I want to meet Aileen's husband....

So here's the new thread. We do this thing at Sacred Fools called Crime
Scene which runs every Saturday Late Night. Its an ongoing serial that is
different every week. Its usually funny but is definately unpolished and
sometimes uneven. It's always sold out and people love it. It's like a
mixture of improv and theater.

So I started thinking about this instant theater thing and I was talking to
somebody about the Neo Futurists in Chicago and how wonderful that is.
Putting stuff up very quickly (with very talented people) seems to create
something very vital that audiences love. Young (20-40) Audiences seem to
like seeing the means of production creaking away in front of them. This
kind of work is really fun to do and forces explosive creativity.

So what are other rats doing like this? What do people think about this kind
of production versus high production value, long rehearsal process stuff?

Excelsior!
