The show must go on, says Belgrade's theater
BELGRADE, March 26 (Reuters) - Belgrade's largest theater is to stage
two shows Saturday to boost the morale of a nation facing waves of
punitive NATO air strikes.

The official news agency Tanjug reported Friday that the Narodno
Pozoriste (National Theater) would stage Rossini's opera Cinderella and
a local play called Bait on March 27, World Theater day.

The theater's management said it planned to put the performances on to
demonstrate that Serb spirit had not wavered despite the bombardment
which entered its third day Friday.

``At the moment when our lives are threatened and our cities are being
destroyed our spirit remains free. Saturday, we shall gather the
audience, raise the curtain, and resume the play that trumpets of war
have stopped,'' it said in a statement.
