Hi Mitch.
It's Ken Tesoriere.
I don't really know what's beneath some of these comments.
I seriously doubt the LA Fest 99 in June dilutes anything in November,
especially since the BCT fest in November is calling itself and Edge of the
World fest that will translate a certain other way in people's minds. For me,
at least, the LA Fest 99 in June is simply a county-community wide theater
presentation of what theater people want to present in a concentrated time
frame.
Regarding Ed's agenda - that seems to be to me who has regular contact with
him in getting LA Fest 99 together, to be simply to get a city-wide festival
up. Other than that, I'm unaware of anything.
Whether the Valley(s) need a younger voice is an issue outside of this
Festival, and in another capacity that you're referring to.
I can't say if Ed hasn't changed much. I only know him two years. He's been
consistently above-board with me. Sure he wants certain things back from the
work he does. We all do. Don't you? But I haven't witnessed anything
acriminous as your phrase seems to harbor. That seems to go back a ways
further between you two, or something. But that, also, has little to do
regarding getting the June Festival up in a broad, positive way to the Los
Angeles public. With ten weeks to go until it opens, I'm putting my energies
into positives.
I certainly do hope you'll join in the LA Fest 99 in June. I like your work,
and you as a person of passion. I'll certainly be joining the BCT fest in
November with group.
