Re: RAT Grad School

I'm pretty sure my intention in explaining myself and my current need for an
MFA had nothing to do with the following people:

Julie Taymor
Robert Wilson
Liz LeCompte
Lee Breuer
Erik Ehn
Dan Fields
Steven Woodsworth

I'm sure that if they don't have an MFA, that they had their own personal
reasons for not going to grad. school, as I have my own personal reasons for
attending. I don't, however, see at all how this "uncovers the myth".
Certainly, at least according to your theory, it suggests that many of these
artists, such as Lee and Mac, are "perpetrating the myth" by teaching in a
grad. program setting.

Just to be clear, once more, I'm not knocking the idea that anyone makes
whatever choice they deem best for themselves. Certainly, I learned just as
much, if not more, from the opening of my theatre company as I do in my
current program.

I am, however, knocking the perception that all grad schools are created
equal. The old model (PATP and conservatory), in my view, no longer works and
needs the energy and enthusiasm that folks like you bring to theatre.
