RAT hey!! review on line/thoughts about truth and faith

Aileen's post reminded me, for those who have been patiently putting up with
our shameless promo -

STRINDBERG(in Paris) just got a faboo review in the Seattle Times this last
week( without having any shows this week to take advantage of it - split run -
next week are the last 4 perfs)

If you are interested in reading a non-involved parties response - look us up
for 2/16/99 at seattletimes.com.

For an involved response, I think it's an interesting piece, and I LOVE the
take we do on about 4 scenes from MISS JULIE. Wish we could do more of it, but
Sg's diary entries are pretty interesting eavesdropping. I guess we'll all
need to go to Philly, now, to see JULIE...

BIG P.S.(Plug and Satori)
any Portland RATS or Reed College alums out there???
theater simple will be performing our adaptaion of Mikhail Bulgakov's THE
MASTER & MARGARITA for the Reed Arts Weekend,(March 4, Portland, OR[plug bit])
and we had a rehearsal tonight after 9 months of letting it lie
fallow(following 80 performances in three countries)... WOW!!! I had more
satori and artistic/personal epiphanies in one evening than I have EVER had
ever - kept finding myself weeping at the truth we were finding in each other
and the material as we worked thru the show.
It is so humbling as an artist to look into someone else's eyes onstage, and
see the support and trust there, and to know, at your most hidden core, that
all those daily nagging, niggling doubts we convince ourselves to have about
ourselves are only so much smoke, and that, reflected in the mirror of those
with you, in the scene, in the connected moment, you are enough - generously
ample, just as you are. THIS is what I jones for -

- read the book!!!!!!! read the book!!! Our play is good, but the novel is
sublime. The crux of the dilemma is faith - belief in oneself and those around
you. Timeless, and applicable to us all, still, daily, privately, publicly
and politically.

Good night.
still euphoric (I just hope I am vaguely coherent)
