Re: RAT Grad School

I am an director/performer currently working in Baltimore as a member of the
Funkopolis ensemble. In addition, I am in my second year of Towson
University's MFA program. If anyone is looking for the grad school most
closely linked to the RAT philosophy, I would say that Towson's is it.

The MFA focuses not on conservatory-style training, but instead takes its
focus as trying to determine new models of theatre for the 21st century. It's
base of study is interdisciplinary, multicultural, and collaborative, with the
development of ensembles and different collaborative teams being another
thrust of the program.

Rather than choosing a focus, then, individuals are expected to work with many
different hats on, and always thinking with the larger hat of "self-producing
artist" on.

If anyone wants more info., let me know... love to have people come visit!
We've got some groovy guest artists coming in during the next few months as
well! :)
