Re: RAT Altamont Now

Karen and all other assorted RATS,

Thank youi for the quick and voluminous responses (even you, autoreply
Gaby.) Never before have I
gotten this kind of immediate feedback to anything I've written on tthis
list, and I must say I am honored and happily surprised. For all of the
cynical hipness we might project, I feel this points to a real commitment
to each other and the work that we do that is at least as important as
Conferences , or Rat Sass, or sharing doughnuts. And erik, if you are out
there, you're absolutely right-- there is no way any institution could be
this flexible.

Just to clarify-- when it rains , it pours... I had just reurned from 19
Graduate School Auditions (in 6 days) to find a message on my machine from
a small Philadelphia theatre (Allen's Lane. )
They had gotten a message that I wanted to direct, and wanted to talk to
me about a possible slot in the fall of '99. I explained to them that I
had just apllied to Grad School, and they responded by asking me to fax
them my bio sketch, resume, headshot, and a list of five plays that I
would want to direct with ideas on production of each.

Now, Theatre Double is the RAT theatre in these parts, but even they can't
do everything, and I have a special desire to flood Philadelphia with Rat
and Rat-like theatre. So I sat down and composeed the following list:

1) A Girl's Guide to the Divine Comedy by Shelley Berc
2) Native Speech by Eric Overmyer
3) Elektra Fugues by Ruth Margraff
4) Altamont Now by David Bucci
5) 7 Blowjobs by Mkac Wellman

This is all from a random phone call that appeared on my machine, and will
only actualize if I don't get in to Grad School. If I do, I will be
coming to an M.F.A. program near you.... Institutional subversion, anyone??

May a Thousand RATS Scavenge,
