RAT http:// www.ratconference.com
Hi friends,
Brooklyn has felt very ratty recently. Last week Matt Sweeney spent a few
nights here before moving into his new place in Sunset Park. Allison
Narver's email arrived an hour ago and she's moved into Fort Greene, within
spitting distance of us Thieves. Seattle is in the house!
Last night a couple blocks from us at Brooklyn Academy of Music in a series
of talks with playwrights curated by Mac Wellman, Rat's most infamous Ruth
Margraff gave a presentation. I was hard at work and couldn't make it, but
Gabriele and Karen gave me a blow by blow later over Rat Sass and Chili.
Brooklyn neighbor Jeff Jones was in attendance. And surprise, surprise
that Big Bopper from the Lone Star State, Mr. Neulander was also listening
in.
We did cross the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan Saturday. We're not immune
to the publicity crush from that shameless plugger. We had to see Rob
Nash's last show. The show was great and we urge everyone who hasn't seen
Rob's work to check it out when you can. In fact the Sassie Committee has
decided to add a new category. For photos of the Sassies Committee taken
this summer after Rat Sass and Chili go to:

Name all those from outside Brooklyn in the photo and win a free ticket to
Rob Nash's new "Solo Theatre Ensemble Performed Serial". And remember, we
are still looking for a few good Sassie judges. Buy a T-shirt now!
I have not yet finished the design for the new Web site, but I need to
leave town for awhile so I put up it as is. The Ratbase part is the most
exciting. Seth and Gabriele having been working hard on that for the last
"too many" months. But now it's up and updating it periodically will be
not quite so awesome a project. Also, the automated archive of the
Rat-list to the Web will be helpful to everyone.
Check all this out under the new domain name of http://
www.ratconference.com which is synonymous with http://rat.whirl-i-gig.com
Mail to the rat-list can go to the <rat-list@whirl-i-gig.com> or
<rat-list@ratconference.com>, likewise all addresses and URLs are
interchangeable.
I'll be back early next week to complete the design and fix the things not
working. Please write and give us your comments and suggestions.
Best,
Nick
