RAT Thank you rats
I just realized as I was reading one of the recent emails about what we can do that I'm a theatre PACK RAT...I must have enough work clothes, blue jeans, tshirts, jackets, boots and the like for at least 25 to 50 people to wear. ANd we're talking quality stuff (no holes..saved because "that will probably be useful in a show...") Now I don't have to sit around wondering what I can do.
One Philadelphia news station, KYW -- is conducting Operation Brotherly love, which is collecting many of those items that were listed as needed in a recent email. I'll be driving a vanload down tomorrow morning...and will bring more down next week (assuming they are still taking things then).
Vagabond also took up a collection from all of our poor actor folks...who alone felt insignificant, but together have already chipped in around $150 for the red cross. $1 seems like so little, until it joins with $149 of its brothers.
It took awhile to come out of the cloud of shock where I kept saying, "I can't think of any way to help..." -- but it was the RAT list and Steve Case's AOL "What you can do to help" list that really got me going.
We had only five people show up to see our show tonight -- but they told us how glad they were that we were still running it.
Thanks all -
