. It's looking like
a collage right now, of monologues and scenes from plays (Chuck Mee's
"Trojan Women," Robert Auletta's translation of "The Persians," "The Grapes
of Wrath," "Our Town," Fugard's "Playland," etc.) and readings of some
documents of American identity and peace (the Constitution, Declaration of
Independence maybe, Biblical text, excerpts of the Koran, Thich Nhat Hanh's
14 precepts of engaged Buddhism, etc.) We're going to try and do this
Monday night.
IF you put something together let me know what it is. Maybe I can get some
actors together and do something at Freehold. If you have specifics regarding
the texts please email off the list. I have no ideas floating in my head, I
have been weeping and reading the Times, and drinking coffee, and on the
phone to NY, and glued to the TV, and I cannot even think about texts - I
applaud your focus and purposefulness, and would like to follow suit but I
need to literally 'follow' your suit.
