All of you involved in small theater, please let me know what you plan to do about this weekend. Are you planning to close? Or stay open like normal? Somehow it seems impossible to me to stay open (at least that's the way I feel today) Please share your thoughts with me, producers!

Hi,
A friend of mine was wondering the same thing.
Here's my reply to him:
To cancel the show would be to give in to the most insidious of manipulations.
And I shudder as I think of those implications.
Theatre is what we do.
And what we do we must keep doing.
Each word, each note of music, each pause and each exchange must be viewed as a chosen retaliation.
If anything, shows should be added.
This is a war with our future..
And theatre is our only weapon.
We must know the target and aim cleanly.
There are tens of thousands of voices now that will remain forever silent.
Suddenly.
Insanely.
Sickeningly.
It's up to us to pick up the slack and scream as sharply as we can in response to this sudden snuffing.
I'll be there tomorrow night.
I hope it's standing room only.
Ezra
