RAT Moving Arts Playreading 9/11

Title: Moving Arts Playreading 9/11
Hi RATs,

On Tuesday, September 11 at 8:00 pm, Moving Arts will present a reading of DANCING IN THE SHADOWS, a play by R. Brent Beerman, directed by Kimberly Glann.

Alex Singer and his mother have been running from monsters for most of their lives.  Alex has found strength and solace in music; his mother, an incest survivor, has not found such comfort.  In DANCING IN THE SHADOWS, Alex rescues his mother from a state mental hospital and hides out with her in a small motel room in the corner of nowhere, determined to help her live in the present by making her face the demons of her past.

R. Brent Beerman is a writer and teacher living in Los Angeles.   His plays have received numerous productions, including MILLIONAIRES and GABRIEL'S RAPTURE off-Broadway.  He received an MFA in Playwriting from UCLA.

The reading of DANCING IN THE SHADOWS will be held at Moving Arts' mainstage at the Los Angeles Theatre Center, 514 South Spring St. in downtown Los Angeles.  There is ample parking in the gated lot at 6th and Main, just behind the theatre.

Admission is free.  Reservations are not required.  A discussion will follow the reading.
