RAT TALR Workshops!!
More summer fun from HERE Arts Center's 12th Annual American Living Room
Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the theatre - HERE announces 7 one-time only workshops in a variety of performance practices. On August 25th/26th and September 1st/2nd, Ellen Beckerman, Marcy Arlin, Daniel Levy, Brian Shapiro, Christine Suarez, Kristin Marting, and Kevin Augustine are each leading a workshop in their area of expertise. Aug 25, noon-2pm - Using Improvisation with Text in the Development of New Plays
Working with the playwright, the best way to use focused improvisation to help the playwright, director, and actors develop the script. Please bring a scene from a new play - playwright should attend if possible - Led by Marcy Arlin
Aug 25, 2:30pm-5pm - Physical Ensemble Training
This two-hour workshop will use the eb&c rehearsal warmup as a base for introducing the principles of physical ensemble work - Led by Ellen Beckerman
Aug 26, 12:30-2pm - Collaboration
Get to know your possibilities as a collaborator during this 90-minute exploration of the collaborative process - Led by Daniel Levy
Aug 26, 2:30pm-4:30pm - Body, Voice, and Motion
This workshop is designed to locate those places where the performance body and the performance voice merge, spawning a new area for creative insights and discoveries - Led by Brian Shapiro
Sept 1, noon-1:30pm - Animating Puppets
Explore Lone Wolf Tribe's unique approach to bringing puppets to life - Led by Kevin Augustine
Sept 1, 2pm-4pm - Gestural Vocabulary
An examination and practicum on gesture-based theatre as practised by Kristin Marting, Executive Director of HERE - Led by Kristin Marting
Sept 2, 9am-11am - Self-Massage Workshop
Learn tools to develop your own self-massage routine to use for a warm-up for rehearsal or performance - Led by Christine Suarez
