Hi Seattle
Rats:
I'm passing on an invitation to
attend an open rehearsal & artists' gathering (on Fri 7/13)
and free performance (on Sat 7/14) of what sounds like an
excellent project featuring Austin-based musician Alejandro
Escovedo. It's happening, surprisingly enough, at the Experience Music
Project...see below for details. Capacity is limited to 15, & it's
first-come first-served, so if you wanna go, make sure you RSVP soon!

Hello! You're invited to a small gathering of artists and community organizers working in theatre and music, especially cross-discipline and cross-cultural areas. This Saturday, July 14th, Experience Music Project is hosting the project By the Hand of the Father, featuring Alejandro Escovedo. Performed by two actors and seven musicians, BY THE HAND OF THE FATHER dramatizes the 20th century experience of the Mexican-American father and combines original music, storytelling and video to reflect on the personal stories of America's immigrant history. See http://www.aboutpd.org/bthof-frameset.html and www.alejandroescovedo.com for more info. On FRIDAY, the day before the show, EMP will host a small gathering for the artists and Seattle area artists and organizers. Please come watch open rehearsal between 4:30 - 6:30 pm (arrive any time), to get an idea of the performance. The gathering will follow immediately at 6:30 - 8:00 pm. The goal is to give folks a chance to meet and exchange resources and ideas. Space is limited to 15. Comp tickets for the Saturday performance are included, plus beverages and light snacks. PLEASE RSVP to Bob Redmond, EMP Education Dept, 262-3680, or bobr@emplive.com. Bob will send you confirmation and more detailed directions.
