Seattle-area Rats: don't miss a piping-hot new show
by theatre simple's Llysa Holland!
In September 2000, a panel appointed by the Seattle Fringe invited proposals from festival alumni to create a new work to be presented as a benefit for the Seattle Fringe Festival. We are delighted to present the winning piece, Kali and Cookies, written and performed by the fabulous Llysa Holland, at the Richard Hugo House on May 18 & 19 at 8:00 PM. In this smart, quirky show, the Indian Goddess Kali invites the audience to explore the metaphysics of cookie baking spiced with a pinch of chaos theory. Choreography by Marla Simms adds sinuous movement to the mix. And here's the best part: real live cookies will be baked on stage! And shared with the audience! Mmmmm. The evening also includes a post-show talkback and a reception featuring MORE cookies baked by our very own Fringe board. Tickets to Kali & Cookies are $20.00. Nope, that's NOT CHEAP! But in addition to being a kickass new piece, this show is a BENEFIT! It's the major Fringe FUNDRAISER of 2001! It's a vital way for us to raise funds for, and interest in, the future of the Seattle Fringe Festival. And just in case you're wondering...Seattle Fringe Festival works to present affordable theatre. Our Festival ticket prices range from $6.00 for seniors and students to $12.00 for the first regular-priced ticket, and $10 for every ticket after that. (5-show passes are $40, All-Fest passes $150). But we need your support to help keep our prices low. So put off buying that new CD, come catch a hot piece of theatre, and support the exciting, accessible Seattle Fringe Festival! To purchase tickets just call 342.9172 x 1 with a credit card number. (You can also purchase tickets at the door, but why wait?) Hope to see you there.
