Re: RAT brainstorming the rats

Jessica-
Maybe The Japan Society.  http://www.japansociety.org/  You'd need to emphasize the cross-cultural nature of the project: how you'll contribute to Japanese culture and how you'll spread understanding of their culture upon your return to America.

Subject: RAT brainstorming the rats

Anyone know anyone who might be able to sponsor/fund/grant
resources/financial or otherwise for continuing education to an theatre
educator/director/actor?
Okay. What's going on is

I am going to Japan to study with a Russian Director who works in conjunction
with a professor at Kanagawa University in Tokyo, Nobuyuki Nakamoto) as well
as a university professor (Mark Jenkins - playwright/actor/director/teacher)
from the Professional Actors Training Program at the University of
Washington. It is a 3 week workshop (housing/workshop $1000 - very good price
for staying in Japan).

If you think of any names or organizations you think I should contact, please
email me off the list at bespecific@aol.com. My background is listed in the
faculty section at this address: freeholdtheatre.org.

I am also interested in bringing gifts to the actors/directors there (both
Russian and Japanese) and would love any ideas you might share with me, no
matter how wacky.
