Allison,

I really, really agree with Alfred. The TCG Conference actually will be
more open form this year -- but that's because they already really know
who is going to attend and what the interests are.

Panels and workshops and performances are really just focal points that
allow for discussion outside the groups, but lots of people milling
around trying to decide what to do means that the folks with the loudest
voices get to decide. This is a networking event, but it's also designed
so we can learn from each other.
